If you are already in employment

Call us on 0208 980 5552 or email apprentice@abisresources.co.uk. We will advise you on the best apprenticeship framework. We will contact your employer to inform them about your interest in an Apprenticeship and provide them with more information about the scheme.

If you have already informed your employer about your development options, kindly ask them to contact our team on 0208 980 5552.

If you are an employer and is looking for training for your staff

Contact us on 0208 980 5552 or send us an email at employer@abisresources.co.uk to discuss your training needs.

If you are between the age of 16 and 19 years and looking for employment

Follow these simple steps to help us find a perfect Apprenticeship for you:

1. Prepare your CV

Making a good first impression is very important regardless of whether this will be your first job or not. The employer would want to know about you and the skills and knowledge you have to take the role. Your CV must tell employers what you have learned and how you can apply that knowledge.

A CV should include Personal contact details (name, address, phone number, email address), qualifications gained, employment history (if applicable starting with the most recent one), personal statement and reference contacts (usually two). Reference contacts can be your
previous employer or teaching staff from school or college. Make your CV
short but concise, providing relevant information relating to the job for which you are applying. Spell check your CV and ensure that it is in a format compatible with most computers as you are likely to have to email it. If the format is wrong, the employer will not be able to open and read it!

For examples of CVs, go to:

www.cvtips.com
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Jobseekers/Helpapplyingforajob

Or contact us on 0208 980 5552 or email youngapprentice@abisresources.co.uk, we will be happy to help you.

2. Send your CV to youngapprentice@abisresources.co.uk along with the details of which industry you would like to work in and where.

It is important to let us know where you can realistically travel to work and what sort of environment will suit you best.

3. We will work with you to find an Apprenticeship programme.

4. Maximise your chance of success!
We cannot guarantee you an Apprenticeship place. To increase your chance of success you also need to actively look for a suitable Apprenticeship opportunity.

Part of the process when taking up an Apprenticeship programme is the support from the employer. Employers will complete some paperwork such as Service Level Agreement, Health and Safety Assessment and Training Needs Analysis is done by one of the ABIS Resources staff.

The employer must provide the apprentice with a contract of employment. It will be either a permanent contract or a fixed-term contract covering the duration of the Apprenticeship programme. The employer should allow an Assessor – who will be allocated to the apprentice – scheduled assessment visits. They will be responsible for monitoring progress towards the completion of the Apprenticeship program. The employer should release the apprentice for classroom-based scheduled teaching at Abis Resources.

Apprentices on accredited training schemes must be paid the Apprenticeship wage rate (as a minimum) set by the Skills Funding Agency. The National Minimum Wage (£2.60 per hour) is for those aged 16 and over during the first year of their Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age category above will be entitled to the national minimum wage appropriate to their age. Employers can pay more but not less than the wage set. Employers are encouraged to review an apprentice’s wages as they become more experienced and progress through their training, for example when a unit or qualification is achieved. Further information on the National Minimum Wage can be found at:
