Course Information
This qualification aims to increase understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health. The course increases confidence in planning and achieving a healthy diet, provides an understanding of how individuals dietary requirements can change throughout their life, raises awareness of dietary requirements of particular individuals, and provides a basis for further study and/or career development. This qualification is designed for a wide range of learners with some existing knowledge of this are who are interested in improving their understanding of nutrition and healthy eating. To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Nutrition and Health, learners are required to successfully complete 3 mandatory units:
• Unit 01 Explore Principles of Healthy Eating
• Unit 02 Consider Nutritional Needs of a Variety of Individuals
• Unit 03 Use Food and Nutrition Information to Plan a Healthy Diet
Entry Requirement
There are no specific requirements but applicants must have at least a grade 3 in English.
Course Delivery
This is a distance learning course. Upon registration learners will be sent course work and notes and on completion of each unit/module the coursework can be posted or uploaded for tutor feedback. Upon completion of all units/modules the learner certificate will be applied from the awarding body.
